I observed rehearsals for Séan Linnen’s production of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The process deepened my approach to audience implication, specifically how and when to draw an audience into the action, versus holding them at a distance to clarify the impact of what they’re witnessing.

This directly informed my writing and directing on Wang Bang Willy Wagon, particularly in how I shape audience perspective and control their relationship to the story.
